The Cordelia Hope Memorial Foundation was established on April 24, 2016 by Rosalee Laws to honor the life of her ten  year old niece Cordelia Hope Tarr.

Cordelia was a magical child and an unparalleled presence to her family, friends, school and the world.  Cordelia attended Saint John Of God School in Westville Grove, NJ. She faced many health challenges  Downs Syndrome and Moya Moya Syndrome. On February 16, 2016, after a long stay in the hospital since fall 2015, her body finally gave out and she became a guardian angel.

To honor Cordelia, our mission is to carry her spirit and love of life forward by instilling her kindness, caring, compassion and empathy in other children. She had to heal the boo boos of everyone by giving band aids and telling people “it would be okay.”   We think of her as the truest of friends who loved helping people. Through her foundation, we will honor this legacy by taking direct action to help children in need as well as supporting children facing major obstacles reach their full potential.

The goal is to create an operating foundation that actively touches the world with its work.  Even though the pain of Cordelia’s lost cannot even be described in words,  I decided from the beginning that her foundation would focus on her life, not her death.  As a result, the foundation is not about fighting a particular disease but rather is focused on how we can take forth this magical girl's life to make the world a better place, healing the boo boos of others.

We want everyone to know about Cordelia, to understand how special she was and to understand why we decided immediately that we must find a way to look at the light and salvage good from this horrific tragedy, that Cordelia's dreams of healing others must be fulfilled, bringing “Hope” and healing boo boos, tragically not by her but rather through her foundation.
